You've got questions, we've got answers

We have been asked some great question about freshOps, here are a few of the most common ones. If you have more, we’ve answered many in our Help Centre.

What is a CheckIn?

A Check-In is basically a Visit to Site by a Cleaner. The Cleaner is required to CheckIn and CheckOut of a site. Your subscription includes a fixed amount of Check-Ins per plan, however, Enterprise Users are charged per Check_in for full scalability. You are not charged for Check-Outs. For an expanded explanation visit our Helpcentre Article Check-Ins & Check-Outs.

What are freshOps Tags?

Tags are the term we use to describe the NFC/QR Tag that your staff will Tap/Scan with their Mobile Device and the freshOps App to Check-In & Out of a building to record their Time and Attendance. Check out an image of a freshOps Tag here

What is NFC?

Near field communication (NFC) is a set of standards for smartphones and similar devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching them together or bringing them into proximity, usually no more than a few inches.  Most modern Android Phones have NFC. Not too dissimilar to Bluetooth or WIFI, NFC is located in your Connections Settings. Once NFC Enabled, Employees can Check In & Out of a site by simply placing the back of the Mobile Phones NEAR the freshOps Tag. (Usually within 1 – 2cm)

We suggest they place their phone directly against the Tag, to ensure a good connection similar to the this.

Do my cleaners need Smartphones to use freshOps?

freshOps was built to leverage the rise of smartphone ownership and smartphones are an integral part of the platform’s accuracy with Time and Attendance. However, if you have cleaners without a Smartphone they can still Log their worked hours through our Employee Web Portal.

Where is freshOps based?

We are an Australian Startup through and through, based in Brisbane, Queensland. We are however a Global Software As A Service business, and freshOps can be run anywhere.

How accurate is the Time and Attendance?

Due to the nature of NFC, we can guarantee with 100% accuracy, that freshOps reports the second your cleaner Check In & Out of Site. We do not rely on GPS or other mobile systems, the fact that a Low Cost freshOps NFC Tag is at the premises delivers 100% Accuracy. For phones that use the freshOps QR Code to checkin, we have a few tricks up our sleeve to ensure accuracy with this method too.
